2 - 3 years old - toddlers
This class is designed to start toddlers off on their wonderful
journey of learning at the foundation stage using music, numbers
and phonic sounds in songs, games and activities.
More work on solo speech and singing is done and by this stage
children usually feel confident enough to come and sit on my knee
to sign a song to their mothers/carers and class mates.
We continue using pitch and the children appreciate that there is a middle pitch as well as low and high.
The introduction of basic rhythm commences at this stage as the children beat out rhythm patterns on different instruments. The concept of ‘call and response’ is also introduced.
We continue work at hand/eye co-ordination by means of songs and activities with the use of balls which is always popular in every MiniMusic class.
